First Guitar Hero IV Details Make Noise

PlayStation 3 Xbox 360

The June 2008 issue of Game Informer has an exclusive game reveal, and that game is Guitar Hero IV.

Guitar Hero IV will be following closely in the steps Electronic Arts’ Rock Band, as it is set to include new instruments such as a bass, microphone, and a six-piece drumset inlcuding two cymbals.

Due to the recent Gibson and Activision lawsuit, Guitar Hero IV’s guitars will not be licensed by Gibson and instead will be custom designed by the minds at RedOctane.

A new Guitar Hero Tunes service will be featured in Guitar Hero IV, allowing rockers to create their own songs and share them with other gamers online. These tracks will, of course, not contain vocals.

More customization is presented in Guitar Hero IV with the ability to design your own musicians, album art, and instrumentals on-screen from scratch.

No song titles are confirmed for the game yet, but we do know that Van Halen, The Eagles, Sublime, and Linkin Park will all be appearing on the tracklist. Every song in the game will be master tracks.

The game is in development by RedOctane and Neversoft and will be arriving on the PLAYSTATION 3, Xbox 360, and Wii by the end of 2008.

Really?! I thought Activision could think of their own ideas and not steal them from other “Great” games. Give me Rock Band
