HAZE Requires Mandatory 4GB Install

Whatever happened to the good old days where we can buy a game and we could just launch it up and play right away. Oh yeah, you can do that on the Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360. Seriously folks, these mandatory PLAYSTATION 3 installs are really starting to piss me off (look at my face!).
Free Radical answered in it's Ask the Developers topic whether or not HAZE would require a mandatory installation to play.
Will HAZE have a mandatory install?
[DL] You will need to go through a minimal install (about 4 Gigs) but not the whole game.
Oh, that is great. I can add it my Assassin's Creed, Devil May Cry 4, and Skate installations along with my many PLAYSTATION Network games. It really bombs.

i really dont understand. thats what the hard drive is for isn’t it? im happy. anyone who really uses their machine as a media center has to have a much bigger harddrive anyway.
Yet another reason for me not to get this game, my space is reserved for AAA titles.
which this is
who cares, too many people complain about installs. It’s there to streamline your gaming experience, if you don’t like it. Sell your console.
Haze isn’t a AAA title. it’s a C in my book.
reviews so far say it’s about an A-
4GB install for a game that doesn’t even look that good. Talk about laziness.
Talk about uninformed…
The only way I’m really willing to accept a mandatory install is if totally erases load times. I shouldn’t have to spend several gigs of precious space on my HDD for a game that still forces me to stare at blank screen and rotating icon and/or progress bar.
This could be related to a lot of statements I read about the PS3 and the way it allocates memory, which apparently is not logical. This would also explain the sometimes lousy performance of the web browser in the PS3. I can’t have YouTube and a site like Kotaku or Scrawl open at the same time without getting a memory issue.
I wasn’t all that impressed with the demo, so Haze isn’t on my purchase list anyway.
I have upgraded my HDD to a 250Gb one, but the installs do bug me, not because we have to have them, but because we can’t skip the ‘intro movie’ al-la GTA-IV!
Why do I have to watch it EVERY time I want to play, admidity I could close my eyes, but that’s not the point.
