Video Downloads Finally Coming to PS3?

PlayStation 3

Well, Sony’s Peter Dille has told us it is coming before, but here is the first glimpse we have of video content coming to the PLAYSTATION Store.

In the picture we see NBC, HBO, the CW, Cartoon Network, MTV, and others available in the PLAYSTATION Store. Little selection, yes, but this is just the first glimpse of the many to come. For those who want to check it out in the video themselves, hit the jump and stop the video around the 1:00 mark. Credit goes to Sev1512 for finding this first, we just got the bigger picture.

We’ve also noticed other modifications to the PLAYSTATION Store in this video, such as the new “Click Start to Search”, or the “Click Square to Add to Cart”, or the new SingStar like button-legend at the bottom. Also notice the “Betas” section, along with the the previously mentioned, in that first screenshot below. The second picture, I just put it up because I saw Cartoon Network in the description. The third picture showcasing the video store also show different outlining on things such as the “View Cart” and “View Downloads”.

I had to pause it to see the HBO and NBC logos so while it’s nice to see those options from the PSN Store they certainly didn’t go out of their way to promote that as a feature. Otherwise they would’ve splashed those logos all over the place or at least made a better reference of it than showing them so small and for barely a second.
