Bourne Conspiracy on PS3 Requires 5GB Install
We are glad to see we aren’t the only ones against this, thanks to a new post from Loot-Ninja. Yes, it turns out the PLAYSTATION 3 version of The Bourne Conspiracy will require a 5GB installation joining the many other games that require installs. Way to go High Moon… way to go.

Again, the purpose of the HDD was for game installs. Having said that the purpose of the HDD for game installs is to improve loading times or make the game better/easier to play in some form thanks to loading certain files onto the HDD that may be harder to read on the Blu-ray disc.
Having said all of that Sony needs to get a hold on this install business or start promoting the fact that bigger HDDs are available and start offering Sony licensed drives… on the cheap.
I can only imagine what MGS4, Killzone 2, LBP, Resistance 2, FFXIII and others will want to install on our HDDs.

I don’t like HDD installs because I only have a 40gig hard drive. With games REQUIRING 4-5 gig installations, I can only have about 5-7 games installed. I shouldn’t have to go through the inconvenience of shuffling through re-installs once my hard drive is full. And please don’t say “just buy a bigger hard drive”. One of the biggest selling points of the PS3 was I thought I got everything I needed right out of the box. I shouldn’t have to waste an additional 100 dollars to get the required space to play more games…

It may be an option, but the fact is the hard drive is there you improve performance of the game, so does that mean you’re effectively complaining about that?

Ignorance is bliss right Sal?
God forbid that developers use what the HDD was intended for.
