EGM Rumors: Kratos to Appear in PS3 Soul Calibur IV, New PSN Games [Update]

PlayStation 3

The August 2008 issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly has an interesting rumor in it’s Quatermann section. Apparently, the God of Soul, also known as God of War’s Kratos, will be appearing in the PLAYSTATION 3 version of Soul Calibur IV. If so, this would be great, fighting as the great god Kratos. Surely anyone in his path will be defeated.

Other rumors in this issue include:

• Activision is making a fancy new peripheral for it’s next Tony Hawk game.
• Q Entertainment is working on a new game for the PLAYSTATION Network.
• A new music visualizer will hit the PLAYSTATION Network later this year.
• A price cut is coming this Fall to both the PLAYSTATION 3 and Xbox 360.

While we’re getting a surprise there’s a rumor that Marcus Fenix (from Gears of War) will appear in the 360 version.

Almost makes sense. While I love the idea of PS3 owners getting something extra special there’s no reason for Namco to give the PS3 any special treatment so there’s almost every chance that a popular character from an exclusive 360 game will make his/her way into this game.

Master Chief is another obvious choice.
