New Clear In-Game XMB Video with Trophies

PlayStation 3

A new video of the 2.40 update for PLAYSTATION 3 has showed up which includes in-game XMB, trophies, and some other surprises. This new video is clear and we get to see just how in-game XMB works.

At around 0:53 in the video, you’ll notice a new “Debug Settings” option in the “Settings” menu. In this section, there are options like “Update Server URL”, “Video Upload Debug”, “Wake On LAN”, “PLAYSTATION Store Ad Clock”, “Dummy XMB (in game) Debug”, and “Dummy BGM Player Debug”. The most interesting is the “Video Upload Debug” setting. Does this mean we will be able to record gameplay? The anticipation is rising. Enjoy!

I’m not sure I buy this one either. While I appreciate the clarity of the video I’m not convinced that this is the real deal if for no other reason than the fact that this user has no pictures, no videos and what appears to be a lot of debug software on his system.

And what the heck was going on with Ridge Racer? He gave it some gas then stopped, then a little more gas, then stopped, then went in and out of the XMB.I was really confused.

At this point I’ll wait until Sony releases official footage before I buy into more videos that leave more questions than answers.
