PLAYSTATION Store Update Running Late, Gamers Go Mad

Well, if you visited your PLAYSTATION Store today, you've probably realized that the new update we posted earlier is still not available. We did, and so have many PLAYSTATION 3 gamers. In the comments for the latest update, gamers are going crazy due to the delay of the update (which is already into Friday), and have exceeded over 1,225 comments demanding the update. We want to know as well though, whats going on with this update? Why was there a delay in the first place and why is it so long?
Update: The store is finally live.

firmwire 2.40 anyone?
People over at the blog and other sites are way overreacting. They act like its the end of the world or that the ps3 just went down the drain. Its just an update, granted a good one, but people need to stop being so uptight. Obviously there is a glitch or something they are trying to work out, let them fix it…jeez.
i dont think firmware 2.40 will come out this week!
