PlayStation 3

Just shown early today at a conference in Japan, Sony has unveiled the PLAYSTATION Video Store. Thanks to GAME Watch, we have some new screenshots of the event as well as information on the store. It will go live during E3 2008 with the content for each country and region varying from each other. To get to the video store, simply open the PLAYSTATION Store and select video on the top navigation (see image). A new search feature is also on the way to both stores. Visible categories in the store include “New Arrivals”, “Movies”, “Television”, “Anime”, “HD Only”, “Rentals”, “Purchase”, and “Top Downloads” although tere are more as the arrow extends to show more categories. Now we wait until the store arrives. It won’t be too long now. [GALLERY]

YES!!! Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!

What I love about this and all the other features Sony is bringing to the PSN is that they’re just bombarding us with a heap of stuff all at once. While we may never see another update like this again it’s nice to see Sony living up to their word that they were preparing multiple features for the PSN.

And believe it or not I think the waiting just makes this even more exciting. Let’s just hope that all this stuff is dialed in and ready to go when they pick a launch date.

The only thing I know that won’t be fully dialed in is the trophy system since game devs are probably just getting their hands on this stuff.

    Exciting time guys. Exciting times.
