NIS have released a new add-on for Disgaea 3 that adds an online ranking mode. You select one of the difficulties: beginner, intermediate, or advanced. You then enter a special version of the item world, which does not have automatically accessible gates to the next floor. When you complete ten floors you get an assessment and a ranking. Highest scores get to use Angel Soldier, an additional character, as a reward. They are good with bows and staffs.

NIS have also added Yukimaru and Tink from Disgaea 2 and Prier from La Pucelle Tactics to the Japanese PLAYSTATION Store as additional characters.
