Guitar Hero: World Tour To Charge for Online Play on PS3 Version?

Well, for some reason, it turns out that PLAYSTATION 3 and Wii gamers will have to pay an online fee for Guitar Hero: World Tour. At the bottom of a press release about Guitar Hero: World Tour, this was tucked away.

*Online gameplay is only available for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and Wii and may require an additional subscription.

If this is true, this would really look bad for Activision, forcing players to pay just because their online service doesn’t charge an annual fee. We’re going to shoot Activision an e-mail to get a confirmation on this.
