Home Beta Invites Going Out Weekly
A few PlayStation Home beta invites started hitting inboxes today in the United States. However, only a select few were able to get into the Home beta. However, when contacting SCEA, they tell the gamer community:
“On Thursday, August 28, 2008 Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) will begin an Expanded
PlayStation(R)Home Beta. SCEA will be adding users weekly (starting 8/28/08 ) and continue up to the
start of the Open PlayStation(R)Home Beta.
“Besides new users, the Expanded PlayStation(R)Home Beta will include a new Home Central Plaza, and
other core spaces including a new Home Theatre, the existing Game Space and the Mall. At this time,
the Mall will only feature free items. More spaces are expected to be added throughout the course
of the Expanded PlayStation(R)Home Beta.”
So, if you weren’t yet added to the beta, then hey, maybe next week!

Don’t get your panties in a bunch. Besides the new Central Plaza (once known as Home Square) and the new Listen@Home jukebox (that’s also in the Central Plaza) there’s nothing else new.
However, with the new Central Plaza my hope is that Sony is sending out more beta keys to stress the servers. New content is probably still weeks if not months away although I’m keeping my hopes high that new content is coming since LBP and R2 are on the way out and both companies stressed that there will be Home specific content/spaces.
Still, I’ve been overly excited and optimistic before with nothing to show for it so I’m keeping my enthusiasm in check.
