The latest Japanese sales charts released today show Yakuza 3 approaching the 500,000 unit mark, however, Sega has announced that the game has already passed that amount in units shipped.

Yakuza 3 is a Japanese action game, graded very positively by the Japanese press. The game features tie-ins with 27 real companies, including a tanning salon. You get to beat the crap out of people, too.

Now what Sega has to do is bring Yakuza 3 over to the US and Europe and get even more sales.

I’m sure the translation would be murder but it would really cool to see this game hit the States. The graphics look insane and I’m sure the story, while deeply rooted in Japanese culture, could rival GTA’s (since the game looks like a GTA-style action/adventure).
