One of the worst things about Mass Effect was the long elevator rides where underneath the surface lies a disguise for long loading times. However, in the sequel to Mass Effect, this will be no more.

BioWare CEO Ray Muzyka said that in Mass Effect 2, they are “reducing the elevator speed times.” That means less small talk and more getting to business.

“We have a completely new system to handle transitions between areas that speeds the load times and turns the loads themselves into part of the game experience.” Muzyka told MTV Multiplayer. “It’s one of many points of feedback we’ve heard and directly responded to in enhancing the gameplay in Mass Effect 2.”
