PlayStation 3 Firmware v2.90 Will Precede v3.0

While they couldn’t confirm the leaked feature set of firmware v3.0 as being correct (the one that Sony said was “wild speculation”), a source at TheSixthAxis has told them that a firmware version v2.90.

“We’re still 6 months or so away [from firmware 3.0],” said one individual speaking off the record, “but 2.90 will come first.”

Well, nothing major there as it was probably expected, but at least we know now.
