Avatars pass the pigskin on Xbox LIVE

You may not see this if you don’t have the preview of the fall dashboard update for Xbox 360, but there’s a free football mini-game available to play from the Spotlight starring none other than your Avatar and its friends.

What’s odd about this, and Kotaku’s Stephen Totilo also pointed it out, is normally small, fun mini-games like these are crafted alongside advertisers to showcase a certain product, but this isn’t advertising anything. You’d almost think Microsoft threw this together just for the hell of it. Maybe they did. Who knows?
