Naughty Dog hopes Uncharted 2 sells 2.5 million

Naughty Dog has said in a recent interview that they hope Uncharted 2: Among Thieves sells over 2.5 million copies come its release next week. Now for anyone else, that would be big dreaming, but with all the success Uncharted 2 has been receiving in reviews, it’s highly possible.
“We’d love to grow the franchise – that’s the bottom line. No matter what you do it’s always very difficult to grow from one game to another. And that‘s what our milestone is.” said Naughty Dog Community Manager Arne Meyer during a recent interview with Edge Online. “If we can do better than we did with the previous game then we’re set.”
The first game sold an impressive 2.5 million units in total. When asked what they expect for the second game, Naughty Dog multiplayer designer Justin Richmond responded, “for this game hopefully it’ll be higher.”
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves releases on October 13, 2009 for PlayStation 3.

With the quality of the game I hope they do reach their goals.

I see a lot of Wii and DS adverts.

1 word: Advertisement.
People need to hear about this game over and over and over. Haven’t seen anything about this game in UK.

TBH the advertising for most games is terrible in the UK. I seldom see anything outside of the gaming magazines and game shop billboards which mentions gaming at all. Annoying.

Like I said in a previous post: with PS3 sales on the up and up there’s a very good chance it’ll outperform the first game.
I think there’s a bundle in the UK so that should help too.
