In a new video interview with DigitalGames.fr, SEGA France spokesman Franck Sebastien revealed the target audience for their upcoming, recently teased 2D Sonic the Hedgehog game codenamed Project Needlemouse.

“The idea really is to finally please all these hardcore gamers because we love them at Sega.” Sebastien said through a translator. “We’re still doing a lot of games for hardcore gamers so we’re really happy that they are around.”

Project Needlemouse will release in 2010. SEGA has yet to announce any platforms, but PS3 and Xbox 360 is suspected.

Thanks, Examiner.

  1. A good video. I think Sega had a bad downturn in the quality of their gmaes but they are most definately back on top right now. Valkyria Chronicles was literally fantastic for example.

I think it must be hard with a franchise like Sonic to please all prospective buyers, as it is a series with many adult and child fans alike. I personally thought Sonic Unleashed was OK but the Werehog was completely terrible imo. It’s gonna be interesting to see what this “Needlemouse” project is like!
