Pandemic Studios on the verge of death?

Pandemic Studios, the guys behind the upcoming open-world adventure title The Saboteur, is going to shutdown today, if sources of Kotaku are to be believed.
According to the source, most of the studio’s 200 staff members will be laid-off today, with the remaining few to go to Electronic Arts’ other development teams. The shutdown is expected to be told to the Pandemic staff at 11AM PST (2PM EST).
As for Pandemic’s latest intellectual property, The Saboteur, it is rumored to go to EA Montreal.
This is still uncofirmed and hopefully untrue, for the sake of Pandemic’s games as well as their staffer’s jobs. We’ll keep you updated.

I really hope this isn’t true, I always hate to see a company go out of business.
I think the Saboteur looks great too, and I was definately going to be picking it up. Then again if it goes over to EA I can’t see why it would not still release.
Still, it is sad to see a company shutdown and I hope it turns out to be false.
