Ubisoft announces next major Prince of Persia title

Ubisoft has announced the next major title in the famed Prince of Persia series today, titled Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. It’s coming to consoles and portables in May 2010.

Ubi’s not spilling any information on the title. Their waiting for the VGAs on December 12 to premier the first trailer. Until then, all they tell us is that it’ll “feature many of the fan-favorite elements from the original series as well as new gameplay innovations”.

New Adventure in the Prince of Persia® Sands of Time Series Debuts May 2010

SAN FRANCISCO – November 30, 2009 – Today Ubisoft announced that Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands(TM) video game is in development and is scheduled to be released May 2010 for consoles and handhelds. This new installment in the critically-acclaimed franchise marks the return to the Prince of Persia® Sands of Time storyline. Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands(TM) will feature many of the fan-favorite elements from the original series as well as new gameplay innovations that gamers have come to expect from the Prince of Persia brand.

Tune in to Spike TV’s “Video Game Awards 2009″ on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 8 p.m. EST for the exclusive world premiere of the Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands(TM) trailer.

  1. I found the first game very relaxing actually, just effortlessly jumping around the brilliantly designed environments. The game wasn’t particularily challenging but I wasn’t too fussed for the most part.

    I’m looking forward to seeing what the next game looks like!

    Nolan North, voice of Drake in Uncharted as well as that side-scrolling game on the 360 (the name escapes me) , was the voice talent on PoP.

    Let’s just hope the game isn’t as monotonous as the last. Yes, great art style but the game was a series of doing the same thing in different places. I got bored with it after about the first hour.

    Yes! I loved the art style of the last game. I hope ubi get the voice actor from the sands of time and add more to the battles.
