Square: Final Fantasy XIII ships 1.8 million units

Final Fantasy XIII is starting off great. At the game’s official countdown launch event in Tokyo today, Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada announced that first shipments for the game top 1.8 million copies.

According to Square, the 1.8 million shipped include both the standard copy of the game and the PlayStation 3 “Lightning” edition bundle.

With this shipment, the Final Fantasy series has shipped a total of 92 million worldwide. Can we expect 100 million by March?

    1.8 million in what a day? Two days? It could’ve been more than 72 hours. I doubt it’ll sell that well in the states but that’s still incredibly impressive.
