Music games are one of the hot new genres this generation, so hot that it’s spawned hundreds of downloadable add-on tracks post-release. With so many coming and coming each week, it’s hard to keep track of or find what you need. Microsoft has a solution: launching indivualized music stores.
Launching later today, the new service will allow for smooth browsing of music selections for Rock Band, Guitar Hero, and LIps. The service will allow sorting, searching and previewing so you’ll know whether or not you actually want the song beforehand (it’s happened).
Thanks, Kotaku.

Basically there’s no way to escape purchasing music for these games. I’m pretty sure these games each have a store built into the game itself but I guess it’s a good idea to an alternative to shopping for music.
I never got into any of these games so for me this would be a waste but I can see how it will be a great addition for all the RB and GH owners. I noticed that they managed to slip the Lips game in there too. Smart on Microsoft’s part to include that as it will draw more attention to those that were thinking about buying the game.
I still don’t see it catching on because if people want to want a karaoke game they’ll buy RB or GH and have someone that can’t sing a lick work the instruments.
