Microsoft announces X10 for this February

Microsoft has announced that X10 will be held this year, making it the first X event since X06. The purpose of X10 is to show off this year’s hottest new Xbox 360 games and peripherals, being Project Natal.
Confirmed for the show are: Alan Wake, Crackdown 2, Fable III, Halo: Reach, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Final Fantasy XIII and a lot more.
The event will be held at the Terra Event Center in San Francisco on Thursday, February 11. The whole event will last just about four hours.
We won’t be there, but we’ll cover everything that comes out of it.

I hadn’t realized that MS hasn’t held an ‘X’ event for nearly 4 years which makes you wonder: did MS feel they HAD to hold this event now that Sony is actually catching up? Do they want to make sure they don’t get trumped by anything Sony may be announcing at E3?
I’m still not convinced by Natal just yet. I like the idea of the Minority Report-like controls to browse the system as well as the face and voice recognition but will the games actually be any fun? Microsoft’s track record on the 360 has been pretty good so far so there’s really no reason to think that it won’t be great but will it be like the Wii that doesn’t get played unless friends are around?

I’m very interested to hear more from the Natal, see some real games using it etc.
As strange as it sounds, I hope that MS dont release plans for an Xbox 720 just yet, either at this event or at E3. I am one of the people who wants this generation to be longer, as it definately has the potential to be.

I am a big fan of the Xbox 360 with some of it’s games but i still can not believe that Final Fantasy XIII is also going to be on it. I am quite angry with Square-Enix for doing this because it doesn’t belong on 360. I’m sure when it does release it will be an epic game but i think it was not built the way it was meant to be built. I love 360 but i really wish they had stayed away from this one.

You can probably blame it on the economic state of the world as well as the money they sunk into this game. They probably had no choice but to whore themselves out a little bit.
