OPM UK: Dead or Alive 5 in development for PS3

PlayStation 3

The latest issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine in the United Kingdom contains an interesting little tidbit in its “Rumor Machine” section. Apparently, Tecmo’s developing Dead or Alive 5; not only that, but it’s in development for PlayStation 3.

“Tecmo’s next big-blossomed fighter, Dead or Alive 5, is in production for PS3.”

Since this is in the “Rumor Machine” section, it’ll obviously be marked down as a rumor. If it’s correct, that’s not to say the game won’t hit Xbox 360 as well. I’m sure if a fifth game were to be made, it would more than likely hit both consoles.

Thanks, PlayStation LifeStyle.

  1. Great, I loved DOA4; it was of the first online fighters I really got into on a big scale.

I have always been a fan of the DOA universe too (I even bought the volleyball games…..yeah….), so I’d definately be on board for a new installment!

Same here TezChi, can’t wait to get back to playing as Hayabusa, Hayate, Kasumi and Ayane. DOA has always been a cool fighting game, and it’s good to hear it’s coming to PS3 again finally. I wonder who the new characters will be?.

Tekken 6 was crud, way too many loading times, the resolution looked garbage and who gave a care about the scenario mode. SoulCalibur 4 left Tekken 6 for dead.

Finally a decent fighting game heading our way hopefully. I was heaps dissapointed with Tekken 6.
I hope they keep it for PS3 only so we can see what a fighting game on ps3 specs really can do.

Xbox 360 fans might scold me for this, but i put Tekken 6’s failure on microsoft. They had to change it or modify it to run on the Xbox 360, which downgraded what it was serpose to be on the PS3. The Dead or Alive series is alot better than Tekken in my opinion. After playing Tekken 6 and that horrid scenario mode, my Tekken days are finished.
