AionGuard is a name that may not sound familiar. That’s quite alright considering the game was announced in January 2009 then never mentioned again. It will continue not to be mentioned, as developer Avalanche reveals today that the game has been shelved due to a licensing problem.
“Aionguard it… it took a strange direction. We attached a licence to it and changed the whole game,” Avalanche Studios CEO Christofer Sundberg told Develop.
“We’ll continue to talk to publishers about it and hopefully one day we’ll work on it again,” he added. “We’ll see what happens with it.”
Avalanche Studios is currently finishing off Just Cause 2 for its March release.
