Earlier today, we posted a top ten game budgets list, with Metal Gear Solid 4 coming in at a $60 million dollar budget. Metal Gear Solid 4 producer Kenichiro Imaizumi has confirmed that this is incorrect, and if it was correct, the game wouldn’t be an exclusive.

“Recently in the news,” Imaizumi wrote on Twitter, “it’s been written that MGS4’s development costs crossed 5 billion [yen], or 7 billion. It didn’t cost that much. If it did cost that much, it would have been multiplatform. But, of course, the data can’t fit.”

So how much did it really cost to create Metal Gear Solid 4? I have not a clue.

Thanks, Andriasang.

  1. Kojima Pro, please grace us with a PS3/360 SNATCHER / POLICENAUTS / ZOE 3 (or anything sci-fi) with the same production values as MGS 4 (the best game/movie ever conceived). I yeah, some in-engine footage/screens of MGS RISING would be much appreciated…..
