Heaveny Sword developer, Ninja Theory, is hard at work on Capcom’s unannounced Devil May Cry 5, if a rumor in the latest issue of Game Informer is to be believed.
Late last month, it was revealed that the developer was currently working on a “top secret project“. Other than that, we know they’re also working on Enslaved with Namco Bandai.
The rumor isn’t hard to believe. Capcom’s said in the past that they will develop all new intellectual properties in Japan, but western developers will still be utilized for currently established properties.
Capcom’s yearly company event, Captivate, happens in Hawaii today. Let’s hope we hear something about this out of them later on in the day.

Please keep DMC Japanese! Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love Ninja Theory, but the DMC saga should remain Japanese. DMC 4 was an art masterpiece, so I see no reason why they should do this. A message to Japan (from a Western gamer): keep your games Japanese developed! You always have better art direction, style, etc. (with the upmost respect to Ninja Theory)……

To be fair, Ninja Theory hasn’t really had the chance to prove themselves. They did Heavenly Sword in 2007 and are working on Enslaved now. Heavenly Sword was decent and Enslaved looks like it has the potential to be a great game.
You can’t really make judgment until they get a few games out. Every developer has their bad days.
