First we have Kratos coming to LittleBigPlanet. Now, it appears we have Kratos coming to Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds as well. Releasing this Thursday on the PLAYSTATION Network you can download Kratos (for a fee of course) and begin your annihilation of all the other golfers out there.

The team over at Clap Hanz "worked closely with with the God of War team and the casts of characters (voice over, animators, etc) that created Kratos in his original form."

Now all that remains is to ask, "Who dares defy the God of Golf?"

Patrick Aiello, movie producer for Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, has confirmed that the movie is set to release in March of 2009. Fans of the series will be sad to hear that SFIV will be released alongside the movie on the same date.

When asked about whether the movie would impact the game at all, story wise or in any other manner, Aiello has given us a sigh of relief. (more »)

Battlefield: Bad Company Conquest Mode Hits August 7th

Battlefield: Bad Company is getting the much anticipated update for the game that will include the Conquest game mode. Many fans were disappointed that the game initially only shipped with one game mode, especially when Conquest was such a big mode in past Battlefield games. It didn't help that the update was supposed to be available when the game launched, but got pushed back until now.

Conquest pits opposing teams against each other to obtain and hold key control points on the maps represented by your teams flag. When one team has more points then another the other teams reinforcements numbers will start dropping unless they can take the points back for themselves. The team who knocks down all the other teams reinforcements wins, so make sure to hold those control points.

This update is free and gladly accepted. Now DICE/EA just need to fix the mic situation, the freezing, and adding in clan support would be nice as well. We can only hope.

Rumor: NCsoft’s Blade and Soul Coming to the PS3

Sony has not been into signing exclusivity deals with third parties as of late, but they did back in 2007 with NCsoft. The contract was for a line of exclusive games ranging from new IP's to existing series. If you don't know what NCsoft is famous for, it is for their great line of MMO games on the PC including Guild Wars, City of Heroes, and its biggest series Lineage.

NCsoft has just revealed that their previously titled work in progress, Project [M], will be titled Blade and Soul and will also be an MMO style game. They have not announced that many titles recently, so it is presumable that this title is one of the games that they are developing for the PS3 exclusively. There is no confirmation of this yet from NCsoft, so until then watch the trailer and enjoy.

Compression Does in Rage: Will Look Worse on 360

You may not have heard much about Rage or you may not have even heard of it at all, but Rage is coming. Rage is a first person shooter being developed by id Software and set for release next year.

The game will inevitably look worse on the 360 due to the developers having to compress the game to fit on two DVD's. Why not go with more DVD's you might ask? John Carmack from id Software enlightened us.

According to Carmack, the royalty fees to include a third disc in the Xbox 360 version would be so high that it simply isn't a feasible solution, with the programmer hoping for Microsoft to make a concession. He stressed that the issue is merely a storage problem and has nothing to do with the power of the Xbox 360 hardware.

The PS3 and PC/Mac versions will ship on a single Blu-ray disc or DVD form as well for the PC/Mac.

Hit the jump for a trailer for Rage from this past E3. (more »)

Bioshock Late on the PS3 Due to “Corporate Decision”

In an interview with Ken Levine, the original lead designer of Bioshock, he has stated that the decision to have the game launch later on the PS3 was made completely by 2K. He didn't have an exact reason as he humorously stated, "that's above my pay grade."

Levine would not comment on the game’s additional content, saying it was a “2K thing,” although he did explain where the game was being produced.

“It’s a mix,” he said. “The PS3 technology was primarily developed by the guys in Australia. Some of the technology’s done in Boston… I think they have a few people at Marin and there’s Digital Extremes, and the additional content is being developed almost entirely in Boston.”

Levine said he had no control over the additional content for the PS3 version, and that the project was 2K-led.

It should be noted that Levine is not involved in the porting over of the game to the PS3. He is excited for it, but is currently working on another brand new game over at 2K Boston.

Custom Home Space for Buzz!

We are all waiting for Home. It's been delayed more than once and had parts of it revamped. Some people have been upset with it, some people don't care. The good news is that at least in the mean time while we are waiting they have people working towards making some neat spaces for specific games.

Here we have the case of Buzz! The space for Buzz! is created in a manor that it is styled like the game, which gives it a very unique and intriguing look. The other unique feature is that the space will include a Buzz! like setup where you can actually play trivia games in it. They plan on supporting up to 64 people at one time, which seems like a pretty hefty number all playing in a single game, but exciting and challenging at the same time. (more »)

Explanation for no Red Alert 3 on PS3

Videogamer.com got the scoop on why Red Alert 3 was canned for the PS3 when it was initially announced as coming to the system. EA Los Angeles producer Amer Ajami has said that when development began the developer found that its game engine wasn't suited to the PS3.

Ajami said, "We actually announced a PS3 version early on but that was when we were still doing a lot of technical exploration of the architecture. PS3 is a very powerful system but as you guys know it's very exotic and tough to develop for and our engine really at the time wasn't designed for PS3."

Ajami also went on to say that EALA "might go back and do something with the PS3 later on". So there you have it. They more or less announced it before they were even ready to make a PS3 game. At this point in the game we would think that developers would stop treating the PS3 second hand and learning the PS3 architecture earlier, but let's just hope this trend ceases within the year.
