Microsoft have officially announced details for their upcoming Xtival '08 event on Xbox LIVE. Xtival is "a three-day party that’s FREE for EVERYONE on Xbox LIVE. This year brings exclusive new music videos, HD movies and new games to download. You can chat to The Prodigy, our headline act, and even compete with the guys behind blockbuster Xbox 360 games."
Bethesda Softwork's Fallout 3 is an excellent game. However, it does have it's few tiny flaws, such as game crashing or visual glitches. These are what patches are for, however. Bethesda Softworks' community manager has announced in a thread on the official forums that a new patch is in the works for all three platforms.
"We are currently working on a patch for all three platforms. When I've got more details, I'll let everyone know."
It's not like it's official or anything, but the community at NeoGAF have gathered together and posted screenshots of the currently released premium themes for the New Xbox Experience. The theme above is (obviously) the Halo Wars premium theme. It looks pretty great. Hit the link to search for the theme you want to check out.
Ubisoft took the time today to reveal two brand new skins you can use while playing as the Prince in the new Prince of Persia. One of the skins is the assassin we all know and love, Altair, from Assassin's Creed, restyled to fit the game. The second skin is the Prince from Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. In order to get Altair, you'll need to register on Ubisoft's site and link your Ubi account to your Xbox LIVE or PlayStation Network account. If you want the Sands of Time Prince then you'll have to pre-order from GameStop.
The Spike VGA Awards are taking place this year on December 14th. You can catch it on none other than SpikeTV, but you won't just be getting the award show. EA Games will be doing their public unveiling of their upcoming boxing game, Fight Night Round 4. I still need to pick up my copy of Round 3, but this teaser is already exciting me.
Capcom finally announced a release date for Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix and a set price. To be released on the PlayStation Network on Tuesday, Nov. 25, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix will cost a modest $14.99. The XBLA version is set to be released Wednesday, Nov. 26 with the estimated price of 1200 Microsoft Points (about $16 dollars.)
As an added (exclusive) bonus to the PlayStation Network, the Street Fighter Underground Remix Soundtrack will be avaliable for free, featuring the likes of Redman, Hieroglyphics, DJ Qbert, DJ Toure, Zion I, Mistah F.A.B. and Oh No.
A little Street Fighter surprise is also planned, but not specified.
Square Enix's recently opened Los Angeles studio will be focusing on downloadable games, tells us Square Enix US president John Yamamoto.
"We started the in-house development team a couple of months ago and we're starting with downloadable content because the team is still small," Yamamoto told GamesIndustry. "All formats--Xbox Live, WiiWare, PlayStation Network--are all viable formats for us," he added. (more »)
Another RPG is coming your way today, because Square Enix have released The Last Remnant on the Xbox 360 to your local gaming retailers.
The Last Remnant is a brand new IP from Square Enix tha timplements elements that appeal to users around the world.
“The simultaneous worldwide launch of THE LAST REMNANT was quite a challenge, considering the multitude of languages the title had to be localized in,” said John Yamamoto, president and chief executive officer of Square Enix, Inc. and Square Enix, Ltd. “We couldn’t be more excited that this title is available to gamers around the world at the same time. This has to be one of the funniest episodes of South Park I could have seen. For one, because it features Activision's Call of Duty: World at War, and two, it parodies my girlfriend's favorite book series, Twilight. Just have a watch. Is this what you used to do in your computer class? Psh, I wish.
Rockstar Games have officially announced it's first episode of downloadable content for Grand Theft Auto IV for the Xbox 360. The episode, titled Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned will be available on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace on February 17, 2009. (more »)
